This video is a demonstration of my G4 Cube mod. It's probably less of a mod, and more of a gut. The only original pieces of tech left are the case and the touch-capacitance switch. The motherboard was replaced with the Intel D945GCLF2 board w/ Atom 330 processor, the HDD was upgraded, and the defunct slot-loading DVD drive was replaced. The only method of input is a Wiimote (I could sync a keyboard if needed, but it's pretty pointless for an HTPC, I think). I wrote an Apple Script to launch DarwiinRemote and begin the syncing process. Sleep Watcher does launches the same script when the computer wakes from sleep. 25-June-2009. The Intel Desktop Board D945GCLF2 which has a TV-out works fine on Windows Vista through a TV without the Intel drivers in NTSC mode (over multiple reboots). Intel's graphics card driver allows one to select and switch to PAL TV output mode. However after a second reboot the mage shrinks from full screen to one with a large border all round whether in PAL or NTSC mode. This single non-stop video capture starts with Vista running perfectly in full-screen PAL mode on a Sony TV, restarted (@ time 1:25) successfully, but when restarted a 2nd time (@ time 3:02) self-switches to a shrunken screen image (but still in PAL mode). (Yes, this Sony TV is multi-system and can be switched to NTSC, but the ultimate use of this Intel motherboard is with another PAL system-only TV.)

La velocidad de carga se justifica por su ligero núcleo, que solo usa un kernel con los minimos controladores, justo al revés que se viene usando en las distribuciones linux clásicas. Esa ventaja es su inconveniente, al tener que lidiar con distinto hardware y no tener la misma compatibilidad que con un núcleo linux clásico.

買ったばかりのAtom 330でWindows 7 beta1 x64を動かしてベンチマーク等してみました。 64bitなのは32bit版がなかった為です。 構成CPU:Atom 330 定格(オンボード) メモリ:DDR2-533 1GB マザーボード:GA-GC330UD HDD:ST380815AS ディスプレイ:P203W(1680*1050) 他はスペックに影響しないので省略します。 訂正：メモリ操作：4.3 ES品表示はBIOSがF1だとなるみたいです。 チチチチ・・という音はカメラのオートフォーカス音です。

This video shows the iMica standard Atom 303 dual system running windows 7. The reason is to show the performance you can get if using both cores and have native intel video drivers which allow video overlay. Now, this is to show that this is a great base reference platform for Aros that will improve with time and get faster with these much needed developments in Aros. I will hopefully get Linux installed soon to run the same tests. One extra note, have run 1920x1080p video and it is just not quite fast enough. However, 1370x720HD is fine but 1080p true video file size will need skt775 board. Please note that we do have a socket 775 ITX board version which is the same £199 but without the processor. Of course it will not be as power efficient and will be noisier but will be as fast as you want. We are also considering other ITX boards but for now IMHO the Atom is a good base system.
