Unbricking the Seagate 7200.11 !Tb drive with the firmware BSY bug using instructions www.mapleleafmountain.com I use an ibook G4 running Zterm terminal program with an Arduino board for the USB to serial TTL conversion (the ATMEGA328 is removed). Mine had SD81 firmware. It was successful. I power the HD with a IDE to SATA power cable, powered from another IDE firewire case/power supply. The seagate drive was actually from a MAXTOR ONE TOUCH 4 external drive.

I needed an external hard drive to backup all my files through Time Machine. I chose this cause I kind of got it at a good price. The original price was RM278/£53/$84, but I managed to bargain with the shop to give me a price of RM250/£48/$75. And the one I have was the last one in stock! I do plan on getting another external hard drive soon, but not for Time Machine, just as a normal storage device. This unboxing video was filmed on the 31st of December 2008.
