Did you know that not all LCD monitors are the same? They come in many different flavors, ranging from TN, MVA, S-PVA, S-IPS, H-IPS, and some other variations. Here I am comparing the TN panels to the H-IPS panels, and showing the differences between a less expensive monitor and a semi expensive monitor. Of course there are even better monitors available if your willing to spend around $2K for a 24". I've included a couple of links, so if you're interested in the technical difference please check these pages out. Most consumers when buying a new monitor have a tendency to look for the biggest monitor their money can buy, which is fine if you're the average PC user. But for those who are like me and spend thousands on PC Rigs, they should be a little more particular when it comes to their monitor selection. I believe that a monitor is as important as any other component, especially when thats what were going to see for hours and hours, day in and day out!. I feel that it is a very important part of the total package, without a decent monitor how will your rig shine! www.pchardwarehelp.com www.pchardwarehelp.com Music credits to Kevin MacLeod @ icnompetech *******************BLACK WIDOW****************** Thermaltake ArmorPlus Case (Modded) ============================= Ultra X3 1000W Modular PSU ============================= ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 SLI Motherboard ============================= Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem (Overclocked) ============================= (2 ...

Dell's back with their 24-inch IPS panel monitor. Looks to be the sweetspot once again with below SGD 1000 pricing. Check out their online store now. www.dell.com.sg. Sorry no commentary for the unboxing. Wanted to do it quickly and because the place had a lot of other things going on I left out the audio. Will do annotations in a while.

If you're in the market for new monitor, I would highly recommend taking a look at the Dell U2410 24" UltraSharp Widescreen Monitor. IMO it's a great all around monitor, with 1920 X 1200 resolution and a response time of 6ms. This monitor was built with the enthusiast in mind and has all the connections you could possible want, including HDMI and Display Port. The only regret I have is I wish it would have came with a remote control to navigate through all it's different modes. If I had to rate this monitor I would give it 8 out of 10. If you do purchase this monitor be sure to get Rev A01, as Rev A00 had some minor issues that have been addresses in the new rev. If you do own this model already and have Rev. A001 there is a firmware available, PM meand I will send you the link. Cheers LazyMan :-)

This is the Dell U2410. This is an IPS based panel and offers a wide range of inputs as well as the new display port input. Great colour reproduction, viewing angles and colour options. Cons: The corner in which they put the power button isn't ideal since when u go to adjust the angle you tend to press it. I also find that they could have offered a remote for a screen with so many inputs rather than having to go into the menu manually and choose the input. Overall a great screen and would definitely recommend it to image/video editors as well as the picky consumer looking for the best quality.
